At Watlington Nursing Home, we delivered a range of disability adaptation works to enhance accessibility, safety and comfort for residents. The main focus was on upgrading bathrooms to meet accessibility standards, alongside installing features and layouts designed for ease of movement. These works formed part of a wider improvement programme, with each adaptation tailored to support independence and improve day-to-day living for residents.
Scope of Works
The project included:
Disabled bathroom upgrades
Installation of grab rails and safety supports
Level access showers
Non-slip flooring installation
Improved lighting for better visibility
Widened doorways for mobility access
Redecoration of adapted areas
Our Approach
We worked closely with the care home management to plan and deliver adaptations that met both functional needs and aesthetic expectations. Bathrooms were reconfigured to provide step-free access, with level access showers and slip-resistant flooring. Grab rails and safety supports were installed in key locations, while improved lighting enhanced visibility and safety. All works were carried out in a live care environment, with careful scheduling to minimise disruption for residents.
